Abhishek Bachchan track in ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ sounds eerily similar to Timbaland’s track

It’s not the first time that a Hindi song has been inspired by an English chartbuster. It won’t be the last. The latest track to make that notorious list is Thayn Thayn from Dum Maaro Dum.

The Pritam composition has vocals by Abhishek Bachchan and sounds eerily similar to Give It To Me, a track by Timbaland featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake.

The latter appears on the 2007 album Shock Value and was nominated at the Grammy’s for Best Pop Vocal collaboration. The Hindi track isn’t just similar in beats used but even apes the way the rap is spoken. Read the rest of this entry »

Vidya Balan marked as mark minister of World Earth Hour 2011: Vidya Balan, besides being a natural beauty, is also known for her associations with social causes. After having endorsed many leading products, Vidya has now been signed as brand ambassador of WWF’s ‘World Earth Hour 2011′, something which Abhishek Bachchan did last year. This year, the World Earth Hour is scheduled to take place on Saturday March 26 between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm.

For starters, Earth Hour 2011 aims to show the actions that people, businesses and governments world-wide are taking to reduce their environmental impact.

Bipasha Basu: The Race kid is back to being her glitz self: Bipasha Basu tried to experiment and essayed the role of a small town, grief-stricken wife in her last film “Aakrosh”. But the star is now back to playing a glam girl in her next film “Dum Maaro Dum” because fans didn’t quite like her as a “weak” woman.

In “Dum Maaro Dum”, Bipasha is cast as Zoey, a hip, strong-minded young woman, aspiring to be an airhostess. She says it was a conscious decision to go in for the role. “Sometimes it’s very important for an actor to know whether you fit the bill or not. Buddies Ajay and Rohit squabble over Singham remake

Rohit Shetty is rushing through the Singham remake starring Ajay Devgn. Sources reveal that this hurry is to move on to his next two projects — Bol Bachchan with Abhishek Bachchan and an untitled flick with Shah Rukh Khan. And this has irked Devgn.

The director and actor recently had a difference of opinion about the way the remake is being shot. A source informs, “Ajay feels that Rohit is in a tearing hurry to finish the film. Even though they have a comfortable work equation and are friends, this is their first big confrontation over a project.”

Both work differently on projects. “Rohit is very hands-on with his films. He likes going about work at a speed he’s comfortable with. Ajay is laidback and relaxed and likes to take time with his scenes. AJ feels his buddy is only rushing through Singham so he can move on to his other films, ” adds the source. Abhishek Bachchan: WCup furor should not influence progress of ‘Game: cThe ongoing cricket frenzy does not seem to bother the makers and cast of ‘Game’ who are confident of their film’s success at the box office when it hits the screen on April 1.
