Shah Rukh Khan apparently didn’t attend a recent awards event, because Salman was performing there…

It seems the two Khans Shah Rukh and Salman are still not in a mood to let bygones be bygones and patch up. The Don 2 star gave a recently held awards event a miss. Rumour is that this was due to his rivalry with long time foe Salman.

A source reveals, “Since Sallu was to perform at the awards (event), Shah Rukh being his rival did not confirm his attendance until the last minute. And he didn’t turn up.”

Apparently there is another reason as well for SRK skipping the event.

The source adds, “SRK was not very pleased with the organisers for giving the Best Actor award to Salman for Dabangg instead of him for My Name Is Khan, last year.” Read the rest of this entry »

Hosts a birthday bash at a Pattaya nightspot this time minus Salman and Shah Rukh

Sanjay Dutt’s party-hearty streak continues, notwithstanding the recent brouhaha over his recent bashes (read: Salman Khan v/s Shah Rukh Khan).

Last night, Dutt hosted a party to usher in his birthday (which is today) for at least 100 guests at a Pattaya nightspot.

The actor, accompanied by his wife Maanayata and tots Shahraan and Iqra, is in Thailand for the shoot of his production, Rascals. Says a source, “Sanjay had booked the club.

He had planned everything along with wife Maanayata, close friend Bunty Walia and manager Dharam Oberoi besides Rascals’ co-producers Sanjay Ahluwalia and Vinay Choksey.

Insiders inform the actor is being offered to step into the role, left vacant by Amitabh Bachchan

After going through the last two award shows without a brand ambassador, it seems that the next edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards will have a new face. And it seems like, Shah Rukh Khan, who has been a sort of informal ambassador of IIFA this year, might be officially roped in.

Previously Amitabh Bachchan was the ambassador of the award function. However, he and the organisers, Wizcraft, reportedly parted ways early last year, albeit amicably.

SRK was being heralded as the new face of the awards after he confirmed to perform at the show in Toronto last month. However, it was only recently after a promo featuring him in the forthcoming telecast of the awards went on air that the organisers made the final decision, according to our sources. Shah Rukh Khan recently shot for 12 hours for a shaving cream commercial. He shaved about seven times, fought with three Ninja girls a la Ra.One style, did a photoshoot and met some 63-odd people.

The ad features a lot of high-level VFX, which has been used to create five SRKs in one frame. King Khan told people that in the ad he’s shot with three sexy, gorgeous babes.

Buddies Ajay and Rohit squabble over Singham remake

Rohit Shetty is rushing through the Singham remake starring Ajay Devgn. Sources reveal that this hurry is to move on to his next two projects — Bol Bachchan with Abhishek Bachchan and an untitled flick with Shah Rukh Khan. And this has irked Devgn.

The director and actor recently had a difference of opinion about the way the remake is being shot. A source informs, “Ajay feels that Rohit is in a tearing hurry to finish the film. Even though they have a comfortable work equation and are friends, this is their first big confrontation over a project.”

Both work differently on projects. “Rohit is very hands-on with his films. He likes going about work at a speed he’s comfortable with. Ajay is laidback and relaxed and likes to take time with his scenes. AJ feels his buddy is only rushing through Singham so he can move on to his other films, ” adds the source. Shahrukh Khan: I Don’t Know If Shakira Is Dancing For KKR: As the rumor mill has it, Shah Rukh Khan was going to rope in international pop diva Shakira for a promotional music video for his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). But King Khan says he is quite clueless about it.

Shun adulteration, Shah Rukh Khan tells adolescent: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan Wednesday urged the youth to stay away from corruption and make India a better place by being honest citizens. ‘The negative has to change. There is so much corruption around and the future can be bettered by young boys and girls only, so that the generations to come can be proud of the country,’ Shah Rukh said while addressing students of the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) here.

‘It is my earnest plea – do not indulge in scams or corruption. Everyday there are new scams in newspapers and TV. Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi join at special ceremony: Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi arrived in Goa today (Feb 17) to celebrate their wedding – check out Masala.com’s pic of the stars as they reached Dabolim airport. And it looks set to be an amazing set of parties ahead for them at Club Fresh and the Taj Aguada. It will be a white-themed sangeet for the couple on Friday (Feb 18) as the venue will be decorated with white roses and jasmine.
