Bollywood’s curvaceous beauty Vidya Balan has reportedly cleared the air about her wedding rumours.  Yesterday web was abuzz with the wedding rumours of Ishqiya beauty. The fans of Vidya Balan spread the rumour on social networking sites that Vidya Balan has tied the knot with beau UTV head honcho Siddharth Roy Kapoor and even speculated that the couple was scheduled to leave for their honeymoon as soon as Vidya completed her shoot for The Dirty Picture in Hyderabad. The gossip mongers got the food fodder as it was Siddharth’s birthday yesterday, August 2.

Vidya Balan marked as mark minister of World Earth Hour 2011: Vidya Balan, besides being a natural beauty, is also known for her associations with social causes. After having endorsed many leading products, Vidya has now been signed as brand ambassador of WWF’s ‘World Earth Hour 2011′, something which Abhishek Bachchan did last year. This year, the World Earth Hour is scheduled to take place on Saturday March 26 between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm.

For starters, Earth Hour 2011 aims to show the actions that people, businesses and governments world-wide are taking to reduce their environmental impact.

Milan Luthria invites Vidya and Emraan to his place to break the ice over a Parsi dinner

Milan Luthria wants to make sure his The Dirty Picture lead actors Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi share a palpable on-screen chemistry. To that end, he has invited the two to his Colaba home for a typically Parsi dinner. The Parsi connection? Milan’s wife, Lianne.

The director feels a home-cooked meal will break the ice.

“Vidya and Emraan have not been formally introduced beyond a cordial hello. However, both are keen to work with each other. I thought my home would be a comfortable place for them to meet.

Both know my wife well and so asked for Parsi food. My mother-in-law cooks superb Parsi food. She will make prawn patio, lamb chops and dal among other dishes. I plan to invite them home this weekend.”

Vidya Balan review at Indian picture fest in Oz: The spotlight is on acclaimed Indian actress Vidya Balan at the ongoing 2011 Indian Film Festival (IFF): Bollywood and Beyond, which is screening a special retrospective of acclaimed Indian actress Vidya Balan`s finest films from “Parineeta” to “Ishqiya”.

Over over 30 films will be screened at the fest, including 15 Australian premiers. The 10-day festival, which is screened in Sydney (March 9-19), Melbourne (March 11-20), Adelaide (March 22-29) and Auckland (March 24 to April 3), kicked off this week at Hoyts Cinema Paris in the Entertainment Quarter, next to the Sydney Cricket Ground, with the Vidya starrer “No one killed Jessica” and British producer Leslee Udwin`s “West is West”. Vidya Balan act in ‘Mr Right’: Vidya Balan is one of the most eligible bachelorettes of Bollywood, but she says that she is not looking for Mr Right and is instead focusing on her career. The actress who has a retrospective section dedicated to her at the Indian Film Festival 2011, which opened here today, laughed off reports that she is engaged to Siddharth Roy Kapur, head honcho of UTV Motion pictures.  “I like his height so he might be worth considering,” quipped Vidya adding, “There is no Mr Right, it just becomes right in love.”

The actress who won over the critics with her roles in films like Paa and Ishqiya said that she now wants to do comedy roles. “I would love to do comedy but such films invariably don’t have enough for the girls to do. But I have come across a script and it is being put together right now,” said Vidya. Vidya Balan act in her new flick Kahani: Everyone knows that Vidya Balan plays the protaganist in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani, a pregnant woman who comes down to India in search of her missing husband. But not many know that she is the only actor from Bollywood to be cast in the film. All the other characters are played by television and stage artistes from Kolkata, barring one from New Delhi. “The film is based in Kolkata and I could not think of anyone from Mumbai who could fit into the characters that I had conceived. The worn-out dressed Sabrina Lal from ‘No One Killed Jessica’ went topless for Dabboo Ratnani’s calendar of 2011. Apart from Bipasha Basu baring her back for the calendar, Vidya got herself smeared in white paint. Balan is looking sexy and flaunts her smooth skin.

This is the second time the demure actress has dared to flaunt her skin without her top. First time it was last year for the photo-shoot of FMH. But with Ratnani’s calendar photo, Vidya leaves very little to imagine. Vidya Balan may be a considerable prankster: To subtantiate his claim, my informer recalled a fast one the actor pulled off on her stylist Vijeta recently. Seems the girl had recently watched Bhool Bhulaiyya and Balan’s performance had really scared her. The next evening, the actor called Vijeta to her room and clad in her Bhool Bhulaiya kinda outfit, mouthed her lines from the movie. Bas, aur kya? The poor gal was so petrified that she ran out of  room as fast as her shaking legs could carry her… much to Balan’s amusement.
